BOISE, ID – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the Lower Treasure Valley and northern Malheur County, beginning Saturday evening and extending into early Sunday morning. Snow and freezing rain are expected to create hazardous travel conditions, especially on Highways 20 and 26.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory will take effect at 5 p.m. Saturday and remain in place until 5 a.m. Sunday. Forecasters predict up to one inch of snow and ice accumulations of less than one-tenth of an inch. Bridges and overpasses are expected to become particularly slick during this period, with road conditions likely worsening as temperatures drop.

Travelers are urged to slow down, use extreme caution, and check local road conditions by dialing 511. Officials recommend delaying travel plans if possible to avoid the most hazardous conditions overnight.

Saturday’s forecast calls for a mix of snow and freezing rain, with a high near 32°F and wind chills making temperatures feel colder. Sunday morning will bring gradual clearing, though icy roads may persist. Looking ahead, drier conditions are expected Monday through Wednesday, with daytime highs hovering in the upper 30s.

Residents should monitor updates from the National Weather Service and be prepared for possible changes in the forecast. Stay safe and plan ahead for winter driving conditions this weekend.
