Boise, ID – A winter storm is set to bring snowfall to Boise late Thursday, potentially impacting travel and outdoor activities heading into the weekend. Residents should prepare for slick roads and frigid temperatures as the system moves through the area.

According to the National Weather Service, Boise will see a mix of rain and snow early Wednesday, with skies clearing by the afternoon. Highs will reach 41°F before dipping to 26°F overnight. A mostly dry Thursday will follow, with a high of 41°F, before snow arrives after 11 p.m. The chance of precipitation is 70%, with light accumulation expected overnight into Friday morning.

Friday will be cold and potentially hazardous for travel, as snow may continue through the morning before tapering off. Daytime temperatures will remain near 37°F, with a nighttime low of 17°F. Motorists should check road conditions and allow extra time for commutes.

Looking ahead, the weekend will remain frigid but dry. Saturday’s high will be 35°F with partly cloudy skies, while Sunday will see mostly sunny conditions and a high of 37°F. Overnight lows both nights will range from 16°F to 18°F.
