Boise, Idaho – Gusty winds and sweltering heat will grip Boise Tuesday, July 15, as afternoon highs surge to 93°F and wind gusts peak near 22 mph.

According to the National Weather Service, dry, sunny conditions will dominate with winds shifting northwest at 5 to 10 mph by late morning. These gusts, especially along I-84 and in open areas west of the city, could make for difficult driving and rapidly dry out vegetation — raising fire weather concerns across the Treasure Valley.

The heat backs off slightly midweek with highs in the low 90s Wednesday, but temperatures rebound by Thursday, hitting 99°F again by the weekend. Clear skies and minimal nighttime cooling — with lows hovering in the mid-60s — will offer little relief for residents without adequate cooling.

Tuesday’s breezy conditions could increase fire risk in outlying areas like Eagle and Meridian. Officials urge residents to avoid outdoor burns and secure loose materials. Travelers along Highway 55 and Interstate 84 should stay alert for sudden wind gusts and blowing dust.

Looking ahead, Boise remains locked in a hot, dry pattern with triple-digit temps possible again Friday and Saturday. Hydration, limited outdoor exposure during peak heat, and air conditioning remain key to staying safe.

🌤 Five-Day Forecast for Boise (July 15–20):

  • Tuesday: Sunny, windy, high 93°F. Gusts to 22 mph.
  • Wednesday: Sunny, cooler, high 92°F. Calm winds.
  • Thursday: Hot and sunny, high 99°F.
  • Friday: Sunny, high 99°F. Low around 66°F.
  • Saturday: Hot, high 98°F. Slight evening cooling to 64°F.

⚠️ Another string of upper-90s heat begins Thursday — expect elevated heat risk into Sunday.
