Boise, Idaho – Idaho residents should prepare for sweltering heat and increasing fire danger starting this weekend, with Boise temperatures expected to hit 92°F by Sunday and climb to 96°F on Monday.
According to the National Weather Service, the region will remain dry and mostly sunny through early next week, but wind gusts of up to 25 mph tonight and shifting northwest breezes could increase fire weather risks, especially across foothill and rangeland areas. A Red Flag Warning may be issued if humidity levels drop further.
Conditions in Ada County will remain mostly clear at night, with overnight lows in the upper 50s and lower 60s offering little relief. Southwest Idaho communities including Meridian, Nampa, and Eagle will all experience similar highs in the mid-90s from Sunday into Tuesday, making outdoor activity potentially dangerous in peak heat hours.
Residents are urged to limit outdoor burning, stay hydrated, and avoid strenuous activity during afternoon hours. Winds Saturday could briefly ease, but temperatures will continue rising into next week.
The dry pattern holds through at least midweek, with no rain in sight and daytime highs near 96°F persisting into Wednesday.
