Idaho – A cool, inky dawn stretches across the Treasure Valley as thin clouds glide over Boise’s foothills and a light northwest breeze brushes against chilled rooftops. Pavement holds a crisp matte sheen in the early low light, hinting at rising moisture ahead. Residents should brace for an increasingly active November stretch, with multiple rain chances from Friday through Sunday and a small early-winter signal next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Boise, today begins partly cloudy and mild before thicker clouds push in by midday. A developing Pacific system taps into moisture that will reach the valley late today and especially Friday. Expect a 20 percent chance of showers after late morning, though the main impact arrives Friday when rain grows more likely by afternoon. Winds stay manageable but may gust near 20 mph east of town.

According to the Idaho Transportation Department, commuters along I-84 and Highways 55 and 20 should plan extra time Friday as scattered showers may reduce visibility and create slick patches during the busier afternoon window. Conditions improve briefly Friday night before a clearer Saturday brings a welcome break with sunshine and highs around the lower 60s.

That break ends quickly. According to NWS Boise, another system forms Sunday with a 40 to 60 percent chance of rain across Boise, Meridian, and Nampa. Rain could turn steadier midday, marking the most impactful travel period of the weekend. Higher elevations east and northeast of the valley may see a minor “winter tease” if colder pockets and heavier bursts align, though snow is unlikely at lower elevations.

Next week turns cooler with lingering shower chances Monday and Tuesday. After all, November often delivers these early, sharp shifts as the region steps closer to Thanksgiving.
