BOISE, Idaho – Gray skies blanket the Treasure Valley this morning, soft light filtering through a ceiling of clouds that hints at what’s coming. The quiet calm won’t last — a string of passing disturbances is expected to bring scattered showers and cooler air to southwestern Idaho early this week.

According to the National Weather Service in Boise, spotty rain may develop by Monday morning, especially west of town and along I-84 between Nampa and Mountain Home. While totals remain light, commuters should expect wet pavement and brief visibility drops through midday. Winds stay mild, but damp, cool air will keep highs in the lower 60s.

Tuesday brings a similar setup — mostly cloudy skies, a few lingering showers, and highs again around the low 60s. A weak ridge builds midweek, setting the stage for a return to sunshine and warmer afternoons by Wednesday and Thursday, when highs may reach the low 60s to near 65°F.

Looking ahead, the next organized system could brush the Pacific Northwest by Friday, increasing rain chances again late in the day and possibly spreading east into the Boise foothills by Saturday morning. Long-range models hint at a more active stretch later in November as colder air returns — a possible early sign of the first snow for higher Idaho elevations before Thanksgiving.

For now, residents can expect a damp but manageable start to the week — cool mornings, patchy rain, and a few bright breaks perfect for late-fall yard cleanup once the clouds begin to thin.
