Lewiston, ID – Drivers on Lewiston Grade and across the Camas Prairie face slick stretches late Tuesday morning as wet snow continues falling through 11 a.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 a.m. PST for the higher elevations around Lewiston and across Lewis and southern Nez Perce counties. Areas including Culdesac, Gifford, Peck, Winchester, Nezperce, Craigmont and Soldiers Meadow Road could see up to 1 inch of additional wet snow.

Precipitation arriving between 9 and 10 a.m. is expected to create slushy accumulations, especially on elevated and untreated surfaces. U.S. Highway 95 over Lewiston Grade and rural routes across the Camas Prairie may become slick quickly as temperatures hover near freezing.

Motorists should reduce speed, allow extra stopping distance and check Idaho road conditions by calling 511 before traveling. Pedestrians are also urged to use caution on stairs, sidewalks and driveways, where a thin layer of snow could conceal ice.

Snow should taper late this morning, but isolated slick spots may linger into midday where slush briefly accumulates.
