Boise, ID – Residents across the Treasure Valley should prepare for a chilly start to the week, as Monday morning brings the season’s coldest temperatures yet.
According to the National Weather Service in Boise, low temperatures on October 6 are expected to dip into the mid-30s across much of the region, with some areas falling into the lower 40s. The agency noted that frost can form anytime readings drop to 36 degrees or colder, especially under calm winds and clear skies.
Forecast maps show widespread lows between 28 and 39 degrees across southern Idaho, with colder pockets in mountain valleys such as Stanley, where temperatures could fall into the teens. Cities including Boise, Caldwell, Emmett, and Mountain Home are projected to see morning lows between 36 and 39 degrees.
The frost risk is highest in sheltered areas where calm conditions allow ground temperatures to cool quickly overnight. Gardeners, homeowners, and farmers are advised to protect sensitive plants and outdoor water systems ahead of Monday morning.
This early October chill marks a shift toward more typical fall weather in Idaho, following a warmer-than-average September.
