BOISE, Idaho – A sharp drop in temperatures has triggered a Frost Advisory across the Treasure Valley and Western Magic Valley, with readings expected to fall into the mid-30s through early Saturday morning. The National Weather Service warns that frost could harm sensitive plants and outdoor vegetation if not properly protected.

Residents across Boise, Meridian, and Twin Falls should cover garden plants, wrap exposed pipes, and bring potted flowers inside before daybreak Saturday. Calm winds and clear skies will allow temperatures to dip quickly, creating ideal conditions for frost development, particularly in low-lying or rural areas along I-84.

According to the National Weather Service in Boise, the advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Saturday. Morning lows between 33°F and 36°F could form frost on exposed surfaces before a sunny and mild rebound later in the day.

Saturday and Sunday bring warmer afternoons near 65°F, ideal for pumpkin patches, leaf-viewing, and outdoor markets. A few spotty showers may develop Sunday afternoon across the higher terrain, but no widespread rainfall is expected.

By early next week, dry and pleasant weather continues with sunshine dominating through Wednesday. Temperatures climb into the upper 60s, marking a calm and comfortable stretch to close out October’s third weekend.

Five-Day Outlook for Boise, Idaho:
Friday: Sunny, high 65°F, frost risk early.
