Boise, ID – A midweek blast of triple-digit heat is set to grip Boise on Wednesday, with temperatures climbing to 99°F and winds gusting up to 23 mph in the afternoon. The combination of heat and breezy conditions could elevate fire danger across southwest Idaho.

According to the National Weather Service, light northwest winds in the morning will shift to west-northwest by midday, increasing to 5–10 mph with occasional stronger gusts. Outdoor workers and event organizers should prepare for challenging conditions, particularly between noon and early evening when heat and wind will peak.

The rest of the week brings only a slight reprieve. Thursday will still reach 92°F under mostly clear skies, followed by a return to 90°F on Friday. Overnight lows will dip into the low 60s, offering modest cooling but little relief for homes without air conditioning.

Officials urge residents to limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest hours, hydrate frequently, and avoid open burning. The heat trend may persist into the weekend, though highs are expected to hover closer to the low 90s.
