Boise, Idaho – Rain and thunder could disrupt commutes Friday across Boise and surrounding Ada County as unstable fall weather settles in. Drivers along I-84 may face slick pavement late Friday morning through the evening, making cautious travel a priority.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected Friday between late morning and 9 p.m. Conditions will improve Friday night, though isolated showers may linger before skies clear by early Saturday. Winds will shift northwest up to 6 mph, helping dry out roads by dawn.

Friday’s high will reach near 77 degrees before dipping to 55 overnight. Saturday turns sunny, with highs near 80 and no rain risk. Sunday continues the warming trend, climbing to 83 degrees, perfect for outdoor plans, farmers’ markets, and Bronco football tailgates.

While rainfall totals look light, any thunderstorm could briefly produce gusty winds or small hail. Motorists should slow down in heavy bursts of rain, and residents are urged to secure loose outdoor items ahead of Friday evening.

Looking ahead, a chance of showers returns Monday afternoon with isolated thunderstorms possible. The pattern clears by Tuesday, with highs holding in the upper 70s and lower 80s into midweek.

Warnings may be reissued if storm development intensifies Friday afternoon. Stay tuned to local advisories for the latest updates.
