Boise, Idaho – Sweltering heat is set to return to the Treasure Valley this week, with Boise pushing into the low 90s by Wednesday and nearing 96°F by Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday’s high in Boise will climb to 88°F under sunny skies and light winds. A hotter stretch follows midweek, with Wednesday peaking near 91°F. Residents are urged to avoid prolonged sun exposure, especially between 2 and 6 p.m. when temperatures and UV levels spike.

I-84 drivers should prepare for increased pavement glare and potential vehicle overheating through the week. Be sure to check coolant levels and carry water if traveling during the afternoon heat.

Clear skies dominate the week, with only patchy clouds appearing Wednesday and Thursday nights. Winds will remain light, offering little relief from the building summer heat. This dry and sunny pattern will push energy demand upward — Idaho Power recommends adjusting thermostats and avoiding peak-hour appliance use.

Thursday stays mostly sunny with a high of 88°F. Friday reaches 89°F, and Sunday could top 96°F — the hottest day so far this summer. No rain is expected through the weekend, increasing the risk for dry grasses igniting quickly in rural Ada and Canyon counties.

Warnings remain in place for heat-sensitive groups through the week. More advisories may be issued if triple-digit heat persists into early next week.
