Boise, Idaho – Blazing heat is set to grip southwest Idaho this weekend, with Boise climbing from the upper 80s Saturday to 101°F by Monday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, Saturday will remain sunny with light morning winds and a high of 88°F. But by Sunday, high pressure will drive temperatures up to 93°F in Boise, with Monday peaking at 101°F under clear skies. The NWS advises limiting strenuous outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, especially for vulnerable populations.
Cities across the Treasure Valley—including Meridian, Nampa, and Caldwell—will experience the same sharp warm-up. Nighttime lows will stay in the upper 50s to mid-60s, offering little overnight relief. Winds remain light, reducing the risk of wildfire spread but also offering minimal cooling.
Drivers along I-84 should prepare for sun glare and possible vehicle overheating. Stay hydrated, check tire pressure, and avoid leaving pets or children in parked cars. This heat wave is expected to persist through at least midweek, with only slight moderation by Thursday.
No rain is forecast, so wildfire risk may increase as fuels dry out. Residents planning outdoor events or travel should monitor air quality and use sunscreen.
Warnings remain unlikely for now, but another round of heat advisories may follow if highs exceed 100°F past Tuesday.
