Boise, Idaho – Triple-digit heat returns to the Treasure Valley on Friday, July 18, as Boise climbs to 99°F under smoky afternoon skies. With dry air, light winds, and temperatures pushing toward record highs, residents should limit outdoor activity and stay hydrated.

According to the National Weather Service, smoke will move into the area after 2 p.m. Friday, likely reducing visibility and air quality along I-84 and throughout Ada County. Northwest winds remain light at 5 to 8 mph, providing little relief from the heat. Saturday will bring more of the same, with highs near 96°F and little overnight cooling.

Weekend Outlook:
Saturday and Sunday will remain mostly sunny and hot, with daytime highs of 96°F and 92°F respectively. Nights offer only modest relief, staying in the mid-60s. Outdoor events, including hiking in the Boise Foothills or floating the river, should be planned early to avoid the peak heat.

By Monday and Tuesday, highs remain in the low 90s with partly cloudy skies, continuing the trend of dry, stagnant summer weather. There’s no rain in sight through at least Wednesday.
