Boise, ID – A new round of winter weather is moving across Idaho tonight, with snowfall expected to continue through Thursday evening, according to the National Weather Service in Boise. The storm may bring travel disruptions ahead of Thanksgiving, particularly across northern and central mountain regions.
According to the NWS forecast map, McCall, Cascade, and the higher elevations near Yellow Pine could receive 2 to 3 inches of snow, while Boise and most of the Treasure Valley are expected to remain mostly dry. Light accumulations are also forecast for Stanley and the surrounding Sawtooth region.
The system is expected to persist into Thursday night, with snow tapering off by early Friday. Motorists planning Thanksgiving travel should be alert for slick or icy road conditions, especially on mountain routes like State Highway 55 and U.S. 95.
The NWS advises checking local road reports before departing and carrying emergency winter supplies in vehicles.
