Boise, ID – The National Weather Service Boise has issued a Wind Advisory for portions of southwest Idaho and southeast Oregon, including the Owyhee Mountains, Harney County, and Malheur County, in effect from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. MDT (2–8 p.m. PDT) Saturday.
Forecasters expect southwest winds of 20–30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph, especially across exposed ridges and open valleys near Burns, Crane, and Silver City. These strong winds could blow down tree limbs, move unsecured outdoor objects, and make driving difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles along Highways 95, 20, and 78.
The strongest winds are forecast Saturday afternoon, easing by late evening as the cold front moves through. Isolated power outages are possible.
Residents and travelers are urged to secure outdoor items, stay alert to changing weather conditions, and use extra caution when driving in gusty crosswinds.
