Boise, ID – The northern lights are predicted to be visible across Idaho tonight and tomorrow, offering a rare chance for residents to witness the aurora borealis. The ongoing geomagnetic storm is pushing the lights farther south, creating optimal conditions for viewing in the state.

According to the Space Weather Prediction Center, northern and central Idaho, including Coeur d’Alene and the Sawtooth Mountains, will provide the best viewing opportunities. Clear skies are forecasted, making for excellent conditions to catch the display.

Residents are advised to head outside between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m., with rural areas offering the best views away from light pollution. The lights may appear as vibrant green and red waves across the sky.

This rare opportunity is expected to draw stargazers across Idaho to witness the stunning celestial event.
