Boise, ID – The National Weather Service in Boise is forecasting light to moderate snowfall along Idaho Highway 21 between Boise and Stanley overnight Saturday into early Sunday, with 1 to 3 inches of snow expected over higher summits.

According to the latest snowfall projection, Mores Creek Summit, Beaver Creek Summit, and Banner Summit could see 1–3 inches of accumulation between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. MDT Sunday, while Idaho City and Lowman are likely to remain below the snow level with little to no accumulation.

The NWS advises that snow-covered or slushy roads may develop at elevations above 5,000 feet, making early-morning travel slick. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time, slow down, and check real-time conditions at 511.idaho.gov before heading into mountain areas.

Snow levels are expected to rise again later Sunday morning as temperatures warm, improving road conditions by midday. However, lingering icy spots could remain at the higher passes through the early afternoon.
