Boise, Idaho – Residents across the Treasure Valley will swelter under a late-summer heat wave as triple-digit temperatures arrive by Saturday. The National Weather Service warns that hot, dry conditions will grip Boise and surrounding cities through the weekend, pushing daily highs into the upper 90s and near 100 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service in Boise, Wednesday and Thursday will bring highs in the mid-90s before the heat intensifies Friday and Saturday. Saturday’s high could reach 100°F in Boise, Meridian, and Nampa, with little relief expected overnight as lows remain in the upper 60s to low 70s.

The prolonged heat raises risks for heat-related illnesses, especially for those working or exercising outdoors. Health officials recommend limiting strenuous activity during peak afternoon hours, drinking plenty of water, and checking on vulnerable neighbors without air conditioning. Drivers should never leave children or pets in parked vehicles, even briefly.

A slight cool down is expected Sunday, with highs dropping into the upper 90s before reaching the low 90s by Monday. Still, forecasters caution that heat remains a concern across southwest Idaho until early next week.
