Boise, Idaho – Boise residents should brace for a sweltering stretch of summer heat, with highs steadily rising to a dangerous 102°F by Monday, marking one of the hottest spells of the season so far.
According to the National Weather Service in Boise, the heat begins to intensify Wednesday with a high of 92°F, continuing through the weekend. Friday and Saturday will bring highs of 89°F and 90°F, respectively, with no significant relief at night as lows remain in the upper 50s to low 60s. Sunday will push the heat index further to 96°F, before spiking to 102°F on Monday.
The prolonged heat could increase the risk of heat-related illness, especially for outdoor workers, the elderly, and those without air conditioning. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activity during peak afternoon hours, and check on vulnerable neighbors and pets. Cooling centers may open if temperatures remain extreme into next week.
Though skies will remain mostly sunny and clear through the period, the cumulative heat buildup may elevate wildfire risk across southern Idaho.
Temperatures are expected to remain above average through early next week. The National Weather Service will issue additional alerts if necessary.
