HILLSBORO, ND — A 54-year-old woman from Hillsboro was seriously injured early Thursday morning after her pickup truck rolled over on an ice-covered road northeast of the city, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP).

The crash occurred around 12:01 a.m. on the 166 block of 3rd Street Northeast, approximately 8 miles northeast of Hillsboro. Investigators say a 2008 Ford F-250 was traveling eastbound when it left the roadway, entered a ditch, and rolled.

Conditions at the time were dark and icy, and the driver was not wearing a seat belt, the Highway Patrol reported.

The woman was transported by Sanford AirMed to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo with serious injuries.

Multiple agencies responded, including the Traill County Sheriff’s Office, Hillsboro Fire Department, and Sanford Ambulance Service.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
