Pittsburgh, PA – A significant ice storm is expected to impact western Pennsylvania and eastern West Virginia, bringing dangerous travel conditions and the potential for power outages.
According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, an Ice Storm Warning remains in effect from 7 PM Wednesday until 10 AM Thursday for higher elevations in Westmoreland, Fayette, and Indiana Counties in Pennsylvania, as well as Eastern Preston and Eastern Tucker Counties in West Virginia. Ice accumulation between 0.3 and 0.4 inches is expected.
The accumulating ice will likely bring down trees and power lines, leading to widespread outages.
