JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A stretch of warm, breezy Fall sunshine is returning to Northeast Florida this week, but beachgoers should stay alert for dangerous surf. A Rip Current Statement remains in effect for coastal Duval and St. Johns Counties through early Thursday morning, keeping swimmers and surfers at risk despite calm skies.
According to the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, patchy morning fog will give way to full sunshine by Tuesday afternoon as light northwest winds strengthen. Temperatures will reach the low 80s, with low humidity and excellent visibility inland. The rip current threat continues along the I-95 corridor beaches, where waves and longshore currents could remain strong at times.
Wednesday and Thursday bring classic mid-October conditions — bright skies, light northeast breezes, and highs around 78 to 80 degrees. Overnight lows dip into the mid-60s, adding a slight chill before sunrise. Mariners should exercise caution near inlets, as onshore winds could still create rough surf and shifting tides through midweek.
For inland residents from Orange Park to Yulee, the weather will stay ideal for outdoor work, school activities, and fall decorating. Light winds and dry air will persist through Saturday, with no rain expected before the weekend.
By Sunday, a few isolated showers may return as humidity rises, but no major system is expected. Until then, Northeast Florida enjoys one of its most pleasant weeks of the season — a mix of warm afternoons, cool mornings, and clear skies from downtown Jacksonville to the beaches.
