MIAMI, Fla. – South Florida’s streak of steamy, summerlike days is about to shift gears. The first taste of fall arrives early this week as a strong cold front pushes through the peninsula, bringing gusty winds, lower humidity, and noticeably cooler temperatures by Monday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Miami, highs will soar into the mid-80s through Sunday before the front sweeps south Monday. While skies stay mostly sunny, breezes will pick up through the afternoon, gusting between 20 and 25 mph along Biscayne Bay and the I-95 corridor. The front will deliver a quick drop in humidity and temperatures, signaling the start of South Florida’s drier season.

By Monday night, readings fall into the low 60s across Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, with inland areas dipping into the upper 50s. It’s not sweater weather by northern standards, but the shift will be enough for residents to notice the crispness in the air by Veterans Day. Tuesday’s highs will hover near 70 degrees—nearly 15 degrees cooler than Sunday’s. Winds will stay brisk through the day, making outdoor ceremonies feel refreshingly fall-like.

This early-November cooldown follows a national trend of Arctic air spreading south across much of the country. While winter’s bite remains far to the north, this front marks an early seasonal turning point for South Florida. Expect clear skies, calmer winds, and mild sunshine by midweek—ideal for early holiday decorating or outdoor plans as the region finally catches its breath from the long humid stretch.
