Philadelphia, PA – A stretch of classic fall warmth will dominate the Delaware Valley through the weekend, with highs climbing into the upper 70s and low 80s before rain returns early next week.

According to the National Weather Service office in Mount Holly, Friday will stay sunny with highs near 73, followed by a warmer Saturday and Sunday topping out around 80 to 81 degrees. Winds will stay light, though afternoon southwest breezes may develop. Nights remain mild, with lows mostly in the 50s.

The weather turns more unsettled by Tuesday, when a cold front pushes across Pennsylvania. The NWS expects a 50 to 60 percent chance of showers Tuesday night into Wednesday, with heavier rain possible along the I-95 corridor during peak travel times. Drivers should expect slower commutes and possible ponding on secondary roads.

Officials urge residents to use the calm weather this weekend to prepare for the upcoming wet stretch. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation advises checking windshield wipers and tire tread before heavier rains arrive. Outdoor events and high school football games Friday and Saturday should see ideal conditions, but organizers should plan for potential weather delays midweek.

Temperatures cool slightly after the front passes, with highs Wednesday in the lower 70s and overnight lows dipping into the low 50s. Despite the showers, no severe storms are expected. Residents should still plan to keep rain gear handy and allow extra travel time midweek. Pets, plants, and pipes remain safe with no frost concerns through at least Thursday.
