Black River Falls, WI – A high-speed pursuit involving two stolen vehicles on I-94 ended with arrests in Monroe County Tuesday morning, authorities confirmed.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received information from the Wisconsin State Patrol around 7:22 a.m. about two rental cars reported stolen from a Minneapolis company. Both vehicles were traveling eastbound on I-94 as they entered Jackson County.

Deputies attempted to stop the cars, but both allegedly fled at high speed. One driver abandoned a vehicle near an eastbound rest stop and escaped into the woods. That vehicle was recovered, though the driver was not located.

The second car continued into Monroe County, where deputies deployed tire deflation devices near Tomah. The stop was successful, and two occupants were taken into custody without further incident.

Authorities identified the driver as Makenzie Eisert, 18, of Fairbault, Minnesota, and the passenger as Anjel Sarr, 21, of Saint Paul, Minnesota. Eisert was booked into Jackson County Jail on charges of fleeing an officer, operating without the owner’s consent, recklessly endangering safety, and receiving stolen property.

Officials noted all parties retain the presumption of innocence until proven guilty in court.
