La Crosse, WI – The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Clark and Taylor Counties, with 4 to 6 inches of snow and wind gusts up to 35 mph expected from 3 p.m. Tuesday through 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Forecasters say snow will move into southeast Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin Tuesday afternoon, becoming heavy at times with snowfall rates near one inch per hour, particularly along and north of Interstate 94.

The heaviest snow is expected Tuesday evening, likely leading to slippery roads and reduced visibility during the evening commute. Travel could be difficult to hazardous, especially on untreated roads and rural routes.

Residents are advised to monitor forecasts closely, limit travel if possible, and carry emergency supplies such as flashlights, food, and water in vehicles. Road condition updates can be found at 511wi.gov.

Snow will gradually taper off early Wednesday morning, with winds easing by mid-morning.
