ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Fall warmth is peaking across the St. Louis metro this week, with sunshine dominating through Thursday before a weekend cooldown and chance of showers. After several pleasant, dry days, a change in the pattern late Friday will bring unsettled weather back to eastern Missouri and southwest Illinois.

According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, highs will reach the mid-80s Tuesday and Wednesday under mostly sunny skies. Winds stay light and variable, creating ideal conditions for outdoor events, commutes, and yard work. By Thursday, humidity edges slightly higher, but the region will still see another warm, dry afternoon near 83°F.

Rain chances build late Friday into Saturday, with a 60% likelihood of showers and possible thunderstorms. Cooler air follows the system, dropping highs into the mid-70s by Sunday. Motorists along I-70, I-55, and I-64 should plan for slick roads and brief downpours if traveling Saturday morning.

The end of the week will bring a classic autumn shift — from unseasonably warm to crisp and breezy. Residents are encouraged to finish outdoor chores and leaf cleanup by Thursday before the pattern turns wetter.
