Jasper County, IN – Overnight lane closures will affect southbound traffic on Interstate 65 starting Sunday, Oct. 19, as the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) begins bridge rehabilitation work under County Road 1800 South.

According to INDOT, I-65 southbound will be reduced to one lane with alternating closures during the overnight hours. Work will occur between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. on weekdays and 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. on weekends, continuing through December, weather permitting. The project involves bridge rehabilitation to improve roadway safety and extend infrastructure life.

Officials urge motorists traveling through Jasper County to expect delays and drive cautiously in active construction zones, especially during overnight travel hours.

Drivers can stay informed on lane closures and traffic conditions through INDOT West Central’s social media channels or by visiting 511in.org for real-time updates.

The project is part of INDOT’s ongoing efforts to maintain Indiana’s 29,000 miles of highway and 5,700 bridges across the state, ensuring safety and reliability for Hoosier motorists.
