Paducah, KY – A wintry mix is forecast to impact parts of western Kentucky, southern Illinois, and southwest Indiana early Saturday, potentially leading to slushy roads and slower travel, according to the National Weather Service in Paducah.

Meteorologists expect light snow to begin early Saturday morning, especially along Interstate 64 and the Ozark Foothills, before transitioning to rain later in the day. Snow accumulations of up to 1–2 inches are possible on grassy surfaces, while roads are likely to remain mostly wet but may become slick in shaded or untreated areas.

By the afternoon, rising temperatures should melt most snow as rain showers take over, improving driving conditions. Still, officials caution travelers to use care on sidewalks and bridges through the morning hours.

Following the weekend system, temperatures will stay well below normal, with highs around 40°F and overnight lows dipping into the 20s through early next week. Another chance for wintry precipitation may arrive Monday night into Tuesday.
