Green Bay, WI – A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for much of central and eastern Wisconsin as a powerful snow system moves in Saturday morning, threatening to disrupt post-Thanksgiving travel and hunting season plans across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, the warning is in effect from 9 a.m. Saturday until 6 a.m. Sunday, covering counties including Brown, Outagamie, Winnebago, Calumet, Manitowoc, Kewaunee, Door, Waupaca, Waushara, Wood, and Portage.

Forecasters expect 6 to 9 inches of snow across most areas, with locally higher totals—possibly over 10 inches—along the Lake Michigan shoreline, especially in Kewaunee and Manitowoc Counties. The heaviest snowfall is anticipated Saturday afternoon and evening, when travel could become very difficult or dangerous.

Major routes such as Interstate 41, I-43, and Highway 10 are likely to see reduced visibility and snow-covered lanes during peak travel times. Officials advise travelers to delay trips if possible, and for those on the road, to carry emergency supplies, including food, water, and a flashlight.

The NWS urges motorists to check 511wi.gov before traveling, noting that conditions may change rapidly as snowfall intensifies through Saturday night.
