I-10 – Travel Alert (Pinal County, Arizona) – Dense fog is creating hazardous driving conditions Friday morning along portions of Interstate 10, particularly between Casa Grande and Eloy.
According to the National Weather Service Phoenix, a Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for parts of northern Pinal County through 10 a.m. Friday. Localized areas of fog with visibility below one-quarter mile are expected to be common during the morning hours.
The most significant impacts are along the I-10 corridor, where sudden drops in visibility may occur with little warning. Drivers may encounter rapidly changing conditions, especially near low-lying areas and open stretches of highway.
The National Weather Service urges motorists to slow down, increase following distance, and allow extra time for the morning commute. Use low-beam headlights and be prepared for sudden stops as visibility fluctuates.
Travel delays are possible until fog begins to lift later this morning. Conditions may improve gradually after mid-morning as temperatures rise and visibility increases.
No precipitation is associated with the fog, but the reduced visibility alone poses a serious travel hazard for commuters, commercial drivers, and early-morning travelers.
Drivers are encouraged to check road conditions before departure and use caution until the advisory expires.
