HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Scattered thunderstorms will keep skies unsettled across North Alabama through Tuesday night as humid air and slow-moving storms bring the potential for heavy rainfall and gusty winds. Temperatures will remain warm, hovering in the low 80s during the day and around 70 degrees overnight.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, rain chances increase sharply Tuesday morning, with storms expected between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Some areas may experience brief downpours and lightning, with rainfall totals nearing a quarter inch in spots. Winds from the south-southeast at 10 mph may gust up to 20 mph before tapering off late Tuesday night.

Residents across Madison, Limestone, and Morgan counties should remain alert for localized ponding on roads, especially during the Tuesday evening commute. Outdoor plans and travel may be briefly delayed by passing storms.

Conditions will improve midweek as drier air filters in from the north. Wednesday brings partly sunny skies and highs near 80, with calmer winds returning by nightfall.
