Huntsville, AL – North Alabama residents should prepare for a few stormy days as a cold front moves through the region this week. The National Weather Service in Huntsville reports a 30–60% chance of showers today, with rain chances climbing to 40–80% by Tuesday afternoon through early Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered thunderstorms are expected mainly from Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning, with a 20–45% chance of thunder and lightning. Officials urge residents to monitor forecasts closely and take shelter when thunder is heard.

Daytime highs will range from the low 80s today and Tuesday before dipping to the mid-70s by Thursday and Friday. Overnight lows are forecast to fall into the 50s late week, signaling a cooler, drier pattern moving in by Thursday.

Forecasters remind those with outdoor plans to stay alert through midweek and to “see a flash, dash inside.” Drier and slightly cooler conditions are expected to last into the weekend.
