Huntsville, AL – After a brief break in rainfall Thursday night, rain and thunderstorm chances will rise again across northern Alabama on Friday as a cold front approaches the region. The National Weather Service Huntsville office says showers and a few storms will increase throughout the day and into Friday night, with highs ranging from 68–74 degrees and lows between 59–64 degrees.
Saturday will bring lingering morning thunderstorms (20–30%) as the front pushes through, delivering a slightly cooler and drier airmass for the weekend. Daytime highs will still climb into the upper 60s to mid-70s, but overnight lows drop sharply into the 41–47 degree range.
Sunday looks quieter and partly cloudy, with highs between 63–69 degrees—one of the more pleasant days before the weather turns active again. On Monday, shower and thunderstorm chances return late in the day (20–30%) as moisture increases, with highs near 66–72 degrees.
Another storm system is expected Tuesday, bringing a more substantial chance of showers and thunderstorms (50–80%). Highs will settle into the mid-60s to near 70, while lows dip to 49–54 degrees by early Wednesday.
Residents should stay weather-aware, particularly Friday night and again Tuesday as storms move through the region.
