Huntsville, Alabama – A noticeable warming trend will take hold across northern Alabama beginning Monday, with temperatures peaking Tuesday before rain returns later in the day and cooler, drier conditions move in behind a cold front, impacting travel along Interstate 565, Interstate 65, and U.S. Highway 72.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, Monday will mark the start of the warmup, with daytime highs climbing into the mid to upper 40s, following a chilly morning with lows in the upper 20s to lower 30s. Skies are expected to remain mostly sunny, allowing temperatures to rebound steadily through the afternoon.

Tuesday will be the warmest day of the week, with highs forecast between 53 and 58 degrees. Rain chances increase later Tuesday, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours, as a frontal system approaches the region. The National Weather Service notes that rain will be the primary precipitation type, with no mention of wintry impacts at this time.

As the front passes, cooler air returns Wednesday, with highs dropping back into the lower to mid 40s. Overnight lows will fall into the low to mid 30s, reinforcing a return to seasonable winter conditions. Thursday continues the cooling trend, with highs ranging from 39 to 44 degrees and morning lows dipping into the upper teens to lower 20s.

By Friday, temperatures are expected to rebound once again, with highs returning to the low to mid 50s under mostly sunny skies.

Forecasters emphasize that while the midweek system is not expected to be severe, wet roads Tuesday evening may briefly impact the commute along major highways. Drivers are advised to remain alert for changing conditions.

Residents are encouraged to enjoy the brief warmup while staying aware of shifting weather patterns as colder air cycles back into the Tennessee Valley later this week.
