Huntsville, Ala. – Strong storms, sizzling heat, and daily downpours are expected to dominate Alabama’s weather into next week, with temperatures climbing into the mid-90s across the state.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, a pattern of unsettled and very warm conditions will persist through Tuesday, bringing scattered thunderstorms each afternoon and evening. Some storms may become severe, producing gusty outflow winds, heavy rainfall, and frequent lightning. Rain chances range from 40% to 70% each day, peaking over the weekend.

Huntsville, Decatur, and Florence could see highs between 89°F and 94°F, with oppressive humidity and limited overnight relief as lows hover in the 70s. Madison and Limestone counties are especially vulnerable to heavy downpours and brief street flooding during peak heating hours.

Residents are urged to stay weather-aware, especially during afternoon commutes and outdoor activities. Charge phones, avoid low-lying roads during heavy rain, and be cautious of lightning.

Storm chances diminish slightly by Monday and Tuesday, but the heat remains. Highs will continue pushing into the 90s, with only a 20–30% chance of showers by Tuesday afternoon. More updates are expected as the pattern evolves.
