Southeast Texas is set to experience a noticeable drop in temperatures this week, as a cold front sweeps through the area. Starting Tuesday night, residents of Houston and surrounding areas can expect cooler nights, with temperatures dipping into the 50s and even lower in some regions. This marks a significant shift from the recent heat, providing much-needed relief from October’s lingering warmth.
According to the National Weather Service in Houston-Galveston, the cold front is expected to begin impacting temperatures on Tuesday night. By then, probabilities indicate that many areas around Houston could see lows below 60°F, with a higher chance of even colder weather in regions north of I-45. The front will continue to lower nighttime temperatures throughout the week, with Wednesday and Thursday nights likely to bring the coldest conditions. Temperatures could dip below 55°F, particularly in areas closer to the I-69 corridor, with a slight chance of lows around 50°F in some parts of the region.
Residents are advised to prepare for these cooler temperatures by ensuring outdoor plants and pets are adequately protected from the colder nights. For those commuting on major roadways like I-45 and I-69, it may be a good idea to dress in layers for the cooler mornings expected later this week.
