Houston, TX – Light rain showers will gradually move offshore tonight, giving Southeast Texas a brief break in the weather before another cold front arrives early next week, according to the National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston.

Forecasters say lingering showers will end overnight as drier air moves in from the west. Temperatures tonight will fall into the low to mid-40s inland and upper 40s near the coast. Saturday will bring a short-lived warm-up, with afternoon highs climbing into the mid-60s to near 70°F under partly sunny skies.

Another cold front is expected to push through the region late Sunday night into Monday, bringing cooler and breezy conditions. Behind the front, daytime highs will drop back into the 50s with overnight lows dipping into the 30s north of Houston and low 40s along the coast.

The NWS cautions that temperatures may feel even colder with gusty northwest winds Monday morning. No significant rain is expected with the front, but residents should prepare for a noticeable chill to start the new week.
