Houston, TX – Southeast Texas faces another hot day Thursday with highs climbing into the upper 80s along the coast and mid-90s inland, according to the National Weather Service Houston-Galveston.

Forecasters report east to southeast winds of 10 to 15 knots, with gusts up to 20 knots offshore. Marine conditions include seas between 2 and 4 feet, with above-normal water levels expected at times, reaching over 3 feet mean lower low water.

Rain chances remain low through Friday and Saturday, generally around 20 to 30 percent near the coast. Showers are most likely in areas such as Galveston, Matagorda Bay, and El Campo, while inland cities including Houston, College Station, and Brenham see only a slim chance of rainfall. Rain probabilities increase slightly early next week, peaking around 35 to 40 percent in some coastal locations by Tuesday and Wednesday.

Overnight lows range from the upper 60s in Crockett, Brenham, and Huntsville to the upper 70s and low 80s along the Gulf Coast. Houston is expected to see a high of 94°F Thursday, with lows dipping to 78°F by Friday morning.

Residents and boaters should remain alert for choppy Gulf waters and brief downpours near the shoreline. Meteorologists say the overall pattern of hot afternoons and mild rain chances will continue into next week.
