Houston, Texas – Dangerous heat and humidity are settling over Southeast Texas this week, with temperatures pushing into the triple digits and heat indices soaring to 110°F across several inland cities, including Huntsville and College Station.
According to the National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston, isolated high temperatures near or above 100°F are likely through midweek, particularly in Brazos Valley and Piney Woods. Heat indices will consistently remain in the triple digits, creating hazardous conditions for outdoor activity and vulnerable groups.
Houston is forecast to hit 96–98°F daily through Thursday, with heat indices peaking near 105°F. Inland cities like Brenham, Conroe, and Crockett could see 99–100°F by Wednesday. Overnight lows won’t offer much relief either, staying in the mid to upper 70s—Galveston’s low tonight remains near 80°F.
Residents are urged to stay hydrated, limit time outdoors, and check on elderly neighbors and pets. Cooling centers may be activated if the heat persists.
A slight chance of coastal showers reappears by Friday, with rain chances increasing to 25–30% late in the week.
Heat Advisories remain possible throughout the workweek as conditions worsen. Monitor NWS updates daily.
