Houston, Texas – Drivers along I-10 and I-45 could encounter sudden visibility drops before sunrise Monday as temperatures fall into the upper 40s and low 50s, creating pockets of dense fog that may cut visibility below one mile in spots south of the interstate corridors.

According to the National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston, lows will range from 46 to 54 degrees overnight into Monday morning, with widespread fog developing after midnight and thickening toward the early commute. The agency warns fog may become dense at times, especially near and south of I-10, including areas along US-59, TX-288 and Beltway 8.

Communities from Sugar Land and Pearland to League City and Galveston face the greatest risk for reduced visibility. Drivers along SH-99 and I-610 should prepare for rapid changes in conditions on bridges and low-lying roadways. Allow extra travel time, use low-beam headlights and avoid sudden braking in fog-prone stretches.

Beyond Monday morning, a sharp warming trend builds across Southeast Texas. Afternoon highs climb from the upper 60s and low 70s Sunday to the low and mid-80s by midweek. Houston is expected to reach around 82 degrees Tuesday and near 85 degrees Wednesday, while inland communities like Katy and College Station push into the mid-80s. Rain chances remain near zero through late week.

The combination of cool nights and warming afternoons will continue to favor early morning fog development. Additional advisories may be issued if visibility drops further before the Monday commute.
