Houston, Texas – Temperatures rebound into the upper 70s today, but increasing moisture will push rain chances as high as 60% by Friday afternoon across southeast Texas.

According to the National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston, highs will reach between 74 and 79 degrees Tuesday with variable cloud cover and east winds around 7 to 12 mph. Overnight lows will stay mild, ranging from 57 to 63 inland and up to 68 degrees along the coast under mostly cloudy skies.

By Wednesday afternoon, highs climb into the 77 to 80 degree range across Houston, Conroe, and Sugar Land, with isolated showers developing as southeast winds increase to 8 to 13 mph. Areas like Katy, Baytown, and League City could see brief downpours, though coverage remains limited early.

Rain chances increase significantly by Friday, with probabilities reaching 50 to 60 percent in cities including Columbus, Bay City, and Katy. This could impact the Friday evening commute with wet roads and reduced visibility in heavier showers.

Looking ahead, temperatures continue warming into the low to mid 80s by the weekend and early next week, with Conroe, Katy, and Livingston potentially reaching 85 degrees by Monday.

Residents should prepare for changing conditions by keeping rain gear handy and allowing extra travel time later this week. Additional updates are expected as rain chances peak toward the end of the workweek.
