Houston, TX – Southeast Texas is shifting rapidly back into warm weather as a strong warming trend takes hold, bringing above-average temperatures through this weekend and into early next week, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Houston–Galveston.
According to NWS forecasters, temperatures above 70 degrees are virtually guaranteed across the region from Thursday through Monday. Every major Southeast Texas city—including Houston, Galveston, College Station, Conroe, and Huntsville—shows a 100% probability of surpassing 70° each day through November 17.
The warming will continue to build. With no meaningful cold front expected through the weekend, inland highs are poised to reach the low 80s by Saturday. By Sunday, highs above 85 degrees become more likely than not across areas such as College Station, Columbus, Conroe, and Huntsville. Even coastal areas are expected to trend warmer, though they may fall just shy of the 85-degree threshold.
Overnight lows will also run above average, with temperatures increasingly holding in the 60s—especially near the coast and urban centers. NWS notes that the warming pattern follows a brief period of cold early in the week, but the returning heat is both widespread and unusually persistent for mid-November.
Forecasters emphasize that while this warm spell is not expected to bring hazardous heat conditions, temperatures 10 to 15 degrees above seasonal norms may feel more like late September than mid-autumn. Outdoor workers, event planners, and residents sensitive to warmer temperatures should stay aware of the trend.
The warm pattern looks to continue into early next week unless a stronger front materializes—something not currently indicated in the latest guidance.
