Houston, TX – A flood watch has been issued for Houston and surrounding areas as Tropical Storm Beryl approaches, bringing the threat of heavy rainfall and potential flooding.
The National Weather Service issued the watch, which is in effect from Sunday night through Tuesday morning. Forecasters predict that Tropical Storm Beryl could produce rainfall amounts ranging from 5 to 10 inches, with some areas potentially seeing even higher amounts. This significant rainfall poses a risk of flooding in rivers, creeks, streams, and urban areas.
According to the National Weather Service, the excessive runoff from the heavy rain could lead to flooding in low-lying and flood-prone locations, particularly in urban regions. Residents in the affected areas, including College Station, Huntsville, and Conroe, are urged to stay informed by monitoring the latest weather updates and preparing for possible flooding.
