Houston, TX – Southeast Texas faces a foggy and stormy Sunday as unseasonably warm weather persists across the region. Residents should prepare for low visibility and the potential for isolated storms throughout the day.

According to the National Weather Service in Houston-Galveston, widespread fog is expected overnight Saturday into Sunday morning, significantly impacting visibility along major roadways, including the US-59 corridor. Patchy fog may reduce visibility to less than a mile in some areas, creating hazardous conditions for early morning commuters. Motorists are advised to reduce speed, use low-beam headlights, and allow extra travel time.

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are likely to develop by late morning Sunday, with storm activity expected to diminish by the evening. Rainfall totals are forecast to remain light in most areas, but localized downpours are possible. Highs will reach the mid-70s, while winds from the southeast will remain light, at 5 to 10 mph.

Looking ahead, Monday brings a 20% chance of morning showers, with conditions clearing by the afternoon. Highs will rise to the upper 70s under partly sunny skies. A similar pattern continues through midweek, with a slight chance of rain returning Tuesday. Temperatures will stay warmer than average for December, peaking in the mid-70s through Wednesday before cooling slightly.

Stay updated on weather developments and take extra precautions during foggy conditions. Monitor local forecasts for any changes to rain or storm chances.
