Hooksett, NH – A death investigation is underway today after New Hampshire State Police discovered an adult male deceased inside a vehicle at the Interstate 93 southbound rest area in Hooksett.

According to the New Hampshire State Police, troopers from the Troop D barracks were called to the Welcome Center parking lot around 7:33 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, where they found the man inside a parked vehicle. Officials said there is currently no information indicating the death is suspicious, though the cause remains under investigation.

Police said the man’s identity is being withheld until an autopsy is completed and next of kin have been notified. Investigators are working with the New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s Office to determine whether carbon monoxide may have contributed to the death. Members of the Hooksett Fire Department also assisted at the scene.

The state police did not say how long the vehicle had been at the rest area or whether the man had any known medical issues. The southbound Welcome Center, located along one of the region’s busiest travel corridors, remained open during the investigation.

Authorities are asking anyone with information that may help the case to contact Trooper Michael Pauley at Michael.D.Pauley@dos.nh.gov.

No further updates have been released, but officials said more information will be shared as it becomes available.
