The event will take place Friday, Oct. 24, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the front parking lot of the Police Department, located at 411 W. Higgins Rd.
According to the Village of Hoffman Estates Government, residents are encouraged to bring non-perishable Thanksgiving food items such as turkey, boxed or bagged mashed potatoes, canned vegetables, pie crust, gravy, and more. Donations will help provide full holiday meals to local families in need.
Special drop boxes will also be available through Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Police Department, all four Fire Stations, and Village Hall. Monetary donations will also be accepted.
Last year’s drive provided Thanksgiving meals to 83 families across the Hoffman Estates community. Organizers hope to exceed that number this season with support from residents and local businesses.
