Hillsborough County, Florida – A traffic stop Wednesday afternoon led to the arrest of a man accused of trafficking fentanyl and cocaine, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said deputies stopped Jordens Joly, 27, at approximately 2:03 p.m. Wednesday after observing multiple traffic violations. Deputies reported Joly allegedly acted suspiciously during the stop, prompting the use of a K-9 unit.

According to the sheriff’s office, the K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. Deputies then conducted a probable cause search, during which they reported finding bags containing approximately one kilogram of cocaine and more than half a kilogram of fentanyl.

Joly was taken into custody at the scene and later booked into jail, officials said.

He is allegedly charged with Trafficking in Fentanyl (28 grams or more), Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Sell or Deliver (Schedule I), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, according to the sheriff’s office.

Investigators did not specify the roadway where the traffic stop occurred, nor whether the arrest is connected to a broader narcotics investigation. No additional suspects were announced.

The sheriff’s office noted that K-9 Odle assisted in the stop and search.

Fentanyl remains one of the most dangerous drugs encountered by law enforcement, with even small amounts posing significant overdose risks. Officials continue to urge the public to report suspected drug activity.

The case remains under investigation. All charges are allegations, and Joly is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

For commuters, the arrest highlights how routine traffic enforcement can lead to major narcotics seizures during daily travel hours.
