Highland, IN – A shooting near apartments on Forrest Drive led police to a gunshot victim at a local urgent care clinic Sunday morning.
According to the Highland Police Department, Lake County Dispatch received reports of gunfire around 10:30 a.m. Officers found shell casings at an apartment building’s entrance. Meanwhile, dispatchers learned a wounded male had arrived at MD Urgent Care Clinic on Cline Avenue.
Officers confirmed the man had a gunshot wound and called for an ambulance. Medical personnel transported him to a hospital, but his condition remains unknown.
Investigators are interviewing witnesses and processing the scene. The Indiana State Police Crime Scene Unit is assisting with evidence collection.
Authorities say no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been identified. Police confirm there is no threat to the public.
The investigation is ongoing, and police urge anyone with information to come forward.
